1. How to delete your account
You can delete your account at any time, from the app or the web, without contacting us:
- Open Account (your profile / settings page).
- Scroll to Delete my account and follow the link.
- Confirm. For your security we ask you to re-authenticate (a step-up sign-in) before the request is accepted.
Want a copy of your data first? Use the self-service export at /account/export before you start deletion — it produces a structured JSON file you can keep, no need to ask us.
In the horsenose Android app, account deletion is available from Account settings — the same flow as on the web.
2. The 30-day grace period
Deletion does not happen instantly. We schedule it and keep your account in a 30-day grace period so an accidental or regretted request can be undone.
Signing back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion automatically; you can also write to support to cancel it. After 30 days the anonymisation below becomes permanent.
3. What is removed and what is kept
Removed / anonymised
- Your name is replaced with a placeholder ("Deleted user").
- Your sign-in email is replaced with a non-identifying placeholder, so the account can no longer be used to sign in.
- Your phone number, language and time-zone are cleared.
Kept (de-identified)
Your past rides, passes and payments are not deleted — they stay in your stables’ records in de-identified form, linked only to an internal identifier with no personal data attached. Stables need these to keep their lesson history and accounts correct; where a stable must keep financial records for a statutory period, that retention duty belongs to the stable (as controller of its own books), not to horsenose. A limited set of security audit entries is kept for 12 months as pseudonymous identifiers only (see the Privacy Policy → “How long we keep data (retention)”).
4. If you are the only admin of a stable
If you are a stable’s only administrator, transfer the role or close the stable first — the deletion flow cannot complete while you are the sole administrator. This keeps the stable’s other members and data from being left without an owner.
Archiving a stable starts the same 90-day reversible offboarding window described in the Privacy Policy and the DPA — during it the stable can be restored and a full export is available on request; when it ends, the stable and its data (including other members’ and riders’ records) are permanently deleted. Make sure the stable’s members know before you archive or close it.
5. Deleting your account if you cannot sign in
If you can no longer access your account, email support@horsenose.eu from the address linked to the account (or with enough detail for us to identify it) and we will process the deletion for you.
