1. How to delete a barn
Deleting a barn is called archiving it, and only a barn administrator can do it:
- Open the barn's Settings → General and select Delete barn at the bottom of the page.
- Type the barn's exact name to confirm — the same safeguard GitHub uses for deleting a repository.
- For your security we ask you to re-authenticate (a step-up sign-in) before the request is accepted.
Archiving affects every member and rider of the barn. Make sure the other members know before you archive it.
2. The 90-day grace period
Archiving does not delete anything immediately. It hides the barn from every member and rider right away — they lose access and it disappears from their app — and starts a 90-day countdown.
During those 90 days an administrator can restore the barn, which brings it and all of its data back exactly as they were. After 90 days the deletion below becomes permanent and cannot be undone.
3. What is removed and what is kept
Removed (permanently, after the grace period)
The barn and all of its data are permanently deleted — schedules, rides, horses, members, passes, vouchers, boarding contracts and charges, and the barn's rider-level payment and balance records. We do not keep a shadow copy.
Kept
We keep only our own billing records for the barn — the subscription invoices we issued to it (including any fees on online payments). These are our own accounting records, contain no rider personal data, and we retain them for the period required by law. The barn's own books are the barn's responsibility (see below).
4. Export your records first
Your barn's financial and operational records are the barn's own books. Under Polish law, keeping them for the statutory period is the barn's responsibility as the business, not ours — we hold them only as a processor on your behalf.
So before the 90 days end, export anything you need to keep. You can request a full export of the barn's data by contacting support@horsenose.eu within the window. Once the window closes, the data is deleted and cannot be recovered.
5. Who can do this
Only an active administrator of the barn can archive or restore it. Instructors, helpers, customers and horse owners cannot — and once a barn is archived, they lose access to it entirely until (and unless) an administrator restores it.
